1. Professionalism and Expertise

• Knowledge and Competence: Guest speakers are expected to present content that reflects their expertise and up-to-date knowledge in the field of speech-language pathology or related field. Presentations should be evidence-based, relevant, and appropriate for the conference audience.
• Preparation and Rehearsal: Speakers should come well-prepared, with a clear understanding of their topic and the format of their presentation. It is recommended that speakers rehearse their presentations to ensure smooth delivery.

2. Respectful Communication

Intellectual Property Rights

Speech Time Fun Intellectual Property Rights 

•  Recording and Use of Speaker’s Session

The Speaker hereby grants to the Organizer the non-exclusive right to record and display the Presentation on a secure site for all paid attendees to view. The Organizer will not modify or edit the content of your Presentation. You also agree to allow the Organizer to use your name, likeness, photograph, video or audio tape, and transcription of your Presentation in any format and media recorded by the Organizer in connection with the Speech Retreat or the use and promotion of your Presentation.

• Ownership of Materials

The Speaker warrants and represents that their presentation, handouts, and related materials are factually accurate and contain no matter libelous or otherwise unlawful. The Speaker further warrants that such presentations, handouts, and related materials are either:

• the Speaker’s own original work or,
• available for use without permission because they are in a public domain, or
• when materials utilized in the presentation are not the Speaker’s own original work or in a public domain, they are either
• presented with the permission of the originator/owner of the material, or
• are believed to be within the “fair use” exemption of copyright law which includes use for purposes of criticism, news reporting, commentary, teaching, and research.

•  Speaker Trademarks and Materials 

Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, the Speaker grants the Organizer the non-exclusive right to use the Speaker’s trade names, logo designs, trademarks, photograph, and company descriptions as provided in Speaker’s marketing materials in connection with the Speech Retreat November 2024 or the use and promotion of the Presentation. These assets may be used in any medium of advertising, promotional products, or marketing materials distributed solely in connection with the Speech Retreat. The Organizer agrees to use materials according to the Speaker’s trademark usage guidelines. The Speaker authorizes the Organizer to use his/her name, likeness, photograph, and biographical data in connection with the use and promotion of any

The Speaker agrees to provide the below items to the Speech Retreat no later than the dates specified.

• Promote Speech Retreat November 2024 via Speaker’s social media platforms
• Logo, photograph and biography for use in advertisements and promotion by: [date]
• Final presentation deck in your presentation format by: [date]
• Final handout of your presentation in PDF format by: [date]
• Optional downloadable material/digital swag that the Organizer can make available to the attendees via their website or email (i.e. a pdf download, educational materials, etc) by: [date]
• The Speaker agrees to be available at a predetermined date and time 1-2 weeks prior to the retreat for a 15-minute rehearsal and technical check
• The Speaker agrees to log into the virtual event platform (Zoom) 10 minutes prior to their presentation start time
• During their presentation at the Speech Retreat the Speaker agrees to be in a quiet space with adequate lighting and a strong internet connection
