Why Upper-Grade SLPs Need This

You became an SLP because you wanted to make a real difference. But somewhere between the 60+ student caseload, the IEPs stacking up, and another session where your 8th grader is slumped in the chair, clearly not wanting to be there… it starts to feel like just surviving the day is a win.

And the therapy itself? That’s supposed to be the easy part. But finding materials that actually work for a 16-year-old that don’t feel like something pulled from a kindergarten classroom is its own exhausting full-time job.

So you do what every resourceful SLP does.

  • You dig through Teachers Pay Teachers.
  • You scroll social media.
  • You Google at 10pm hoping *someone* has figured this out.
  • Maybe you’ve even turned to AI, hoping it’ll just *give* you a plan you can use tomorrow.

But here’s the problem: none of it was built for *your* students. You piece together a lesson, cross your fingers, and hope it lands and when it doesn’t, you’re back to square one, burning time you don’t have.

The real issue isn’t that you don’t work hard enough. It’s that you’ve never had a system designed specifically for upper-grade students with language disorders, one that tells you exactly what to work on, *how* to teach it in a way older kids can actually grasp, and gets them engaged enough to actually show up for the process.

That’s the gap SLP Elevate was built to close.

Hey there, I'm Hallie!

I worked in the public schools in NY for 16 years working primarily with older students, a large caseload, and the ONLY SLP in my building.

When I first started working with older students, I had NO idea what I was doing. This was before TPT, Pinterest, blogs, and access to SLPs on the internet!

But every time I used reading passages with my students they were too challenging that they avoided it or too easy that they thought it was baby-ish. I couldn’t find any resources that were truly for older kids. Resources that were fun and could actually encourage them to participate….better yet show them they can be successful and that learning can be fun!

I decided to create my own materials to get my students excited to participate and learn. And Speech Time Fun and my fun and easy method was born!

I want to save you hours AND help you grow as an SLP by not only helping you figure out where to start and how to teach these skills differently but also providing you with the resources so you can plan quickly and confidently AND see results with your students - imagine..plan in minutes and see IEP goals met.

I am here to provide you with MORE than just resources. I am here to guide and support you so that you can make a massive impact on your students and see them succeed.

“Thanks for making my week a success and easy on the brain! I didn’t have to spend all my mental energy trying to craft materials from scratch!!”

“Your district would never regret it! You will be less burnt out because planning time is greatly reduced, students will be more engaged, you can easily plan for mixed groups.”

“I feel I have better data now to back up students’ goals. Additionally, with looping materials, instructions stay consistent so expectations are known. This means less time explaining and more time practicing the skill!”

“These materials are a total game changer! They allow me to offload some of the mental capacity it takes to search on line for different materials, so that I can focus on how to help the students make progress. The materials provide consistency for me as well as for the students, because we both know what to expect.”
