Brand Copywriter Wanted!

Speech Time Fun is a fast-growing speech pathology membership serving SLPs nationwide. We're looking for a Brand Copywriter (Personal Brand & Membership) who can write in the founder's voice — not generic marketing copy. Everything you write serves one of two audience personas and drives toward a single membership offer.

This is a contractor position. You are not a social media manager, content strategist, or creative director. You are a skilled wordsmith who makes the founder's content land harder. The founder remains the face, the strategist, and the creative director.

Compensation and Hours

Hourly Rate: $1,500-2,000 a month for that full scope

Hours: 30-40 hours a month

Your Role Responsibilities at STF:

Email

  • Write daily sales emails including subject line (always two options), preview text, body copy, and a single CTA
  • Emails must be persona-specific and tied to real urgency — monthly material drops, bonus releases, and campaign moments

Reels

  • Deliver three on-screen hook options per Reel topic before recording happens
  • After video is recorded and sent to you, deliver two to three caption options with a single CTA

Carousels

  • Write headline copy for each slide, caption, and a keyword-trigger CTA designed to feed ManyChat flows

Podcast

  • Build full episode outlines: opening hook, 3–5 talking points with sub-bullets, offer bridge, episode title, and short description
  • Deliver a rolling two-week content calendar with topic ideas pulled from persona pain points, seasonal SLP moments, and monthly drops

Content Calendar

  • Proactively pitch topic ideas every two weeks across all channels
  • You are fueling the founder's creative decisions — not making them

How Success Is Measured:

  • Email CTR — baseline is current 1–2% on daily sales emails; target is consistent 4–5% with spikes to 7–8% on strong urgency campaigns (measured weekly, reviewed monthly)
  • Carousel saves and shares — tracked weekly via Instagram Insights; should be climbing month over month
  • Reel shares and profile visits after viewing
  • Story reply rates on handraisers
  • Content calendar delivery — two-week rolling calendar on time, every time (reliability KPI; the whole system breaks if this slips)

Speech Time Fun Values:

  • Integrity:  If we say we’re going to do something, we do it.  We follow through on what we say and are doing, we keep to deadlines, and see things through to completion.  We take 100% responsibility for your actions and aren’t into blaming others.

  • Creative Problem Solver:  We are creative problem solvers and thinkers and aren’t afraid to take initiative when we have ideas we think will help the business. We are resourceful, willing to make suggestions, seek out new ideas while coming to the table with new ideas, and are outside-the-box thinkers.

  • Service to Our Customers:  We realize that without our customers, we don’t have a business.  We realize that our customers are amazing speech-language pathologists looking for help and support so that they can teach and support their students with ease and confidence.  We work hard to make our customers feel appreciated, heard, and supported. We like to make them feel like they can ask questions, ask for help, and no question is too silly!

  • Wow Factor:  We love to surprise and delight our customers and fellow teammates.  We are always looking for new and creative ways to grow the company and support our customers.

  • Fun/Team Player:  Fun is the basis of the business. We help SLPs have fun at work, their students have fun at speech therapy, and I want you to have fun too while helping grow this amazing business! I want you to enjoy working, interacting with the team, and seeing the results in the amazing work you do!

Skills and Abilities:

Job Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Sales: Prior experience in sales or account management with a proven ability to achieve goals.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Articulate, persuasive, and approachable, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people.
  • Assertive and Organized: Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Open to Feedback: A growth mindset and willingness to learn and refine strategies based on constructive input.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn: Experience using LinkedIn as a tool for lead generation and relationship building.
  • Preferred (Not Required): Familiarity with special education or speech-language pathology is a plus, but not essential.

Skills to Set You Apart

  • Experience writing for niche professional audiences — especially educators or healthcare providers; understanding the SLP world is a massive advantage
  • Familiarity with ManyChat or DM automation concepts so your CTAs are built to feed flows
  • Experience writing podcast outlines or show notes for conversational hosts

What This Is Not

This is not a social media manager role. You are not scheduling posts, managing the account, or making strategic decisions about what content to create. If you're looking for a role with creative control over brand direction, this isn't it.

Scope and Compensation:

  • Approximately 30–35 hours per month ongoing; slightly more in month one during ramp-up
  • Retainer model: $1,500–$2,000/month for full scope
  • Emails are the heaviest lift — budget approximately one hour per email until voice fluency is established
  • Social captions, Reel hooks, and carousel copy run 20–30 minutes each once you know the personas cold
  • Podcast outlines: approximately 30 minutes each for two episodes per month

Why Work For Us?

  • We offer a fun + flexible work environment where your creativity and ideas are valued. If you love to experiment with new and innovative tools, create more efficient processes, learn new skills, and work on a collaborative team, then you will love working with our small but mighty team.

  • We are so lucky to be able to support so many SLPs by helping them create more engaging lessons for their students, feel less overwhelmed, and become the best SLPs they can be! Not only would you be helping to enrich the lives of SLPs, but their students as well!

  • Speech Time Fun, Inc. encourages team members to take initiative and ownership of their roles and responsibilities.  If you love to think, problem-solve, and strategize, this role is for you!
