Meet our Speaker
Karen Kockler, MA, CCC, SLP-L, has been a licensed speech/language pathologist and elementary education teacher for over 30 years. She has worked with ECSE preschool through high school general and special education students who presented with a range of disorders and syndromes. She continues to “be connected” with the school setting through consultations and private practice. She is a Fellow of the Illinois Speech Language Hearing Association, recipient of the 2025 Exemplary Practice Award, former Vice President for Professional Services, former co-chair of the School Affairs committee within that division, and member of the School Affairs, Legs & Regs, and Billing and Reimbursement committees. In 2025, Karen was instrumental in establishing the Assistants and Supervisors Committee for ISHA. She represents ISHA on the Speaking for Children Coalition (S4C; leadership from all School Support Personnel disciplines), and also serves as ASHA’s State Education Advocacy Leader (SEAL) for Illinois.
